Enjoy Fine Dining on our Situated on Westminster Pike - one mile west of Reisterstown on US Route 140, this structure was built in 1722 and opened as an Inn. The original building is of log construction with the clapboard exterior added over 100 years ago. The name of the Inn has long been forgotten. North Star Tavern was the third stop for the wagon trains then operating between Baltimoretowne and Fort Pitt (Pittsburgh). Notables from many countries were lodged here as well as leaders of the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. The late Cardinal Gibbons spent his vacations here and it was he who blessed this house.
